Vintage Japanese Woodcut Kaoru Kawano Girl in a Shell

This vintage Japanese woodcut print is by Kaoru Kawano 1926-1989). He was a printmaker from Hokkaido Japan and is noted for his modern approach to traditional woodblock printmaking.  This piece is from the 1960s-70s.  It is a very bold minimal design featuring a small sleeping girl tucked into a shell.  The artwork is signed.

Framed artwork is 22.5” x 18.5” x 1”.  Print is Oban size 10” x 15”

Artwork is in great vintage condition.  Frame is in good condition with a few minor nicks and scratches.
