Federico Andreotti was an Italian oil painter who lived and painted in Florence in the late 19th and early 20th century. He typically painted realistic figures dressed in elaborate 16th and 17th century period clothing. This painting depicts a woman pouring wine for a musician who is serenading her. Both figures are in period costume and there is an air of flirtation to the scene which is typical of Andreotti.
This is a small painting. The frame is 7” x 8.25” x 1.5” deep. The image is 4” x 5.75” on wood.
The painting is not signed on the front but is labeled on the back Andreotti. It was purchased at the estate of a fine jewelry and antique store in the Chicago area.
The painting is in great condition with one very small scratch on the floor near the frame. The frame is fully intact but does have scratches and nicks on one of the outside edges of the frame.
