Early 20th‑Century Chinese Cloisonné Guardian Lions • Rotating Heads & Spinning Balls • Miniature Filigree Pair

Presented is a matched pair of miniature Chinese cloisonné guardian lions, dating to the late Qing–early Republic period (circa 1900–1930). These finely executed cabinet pieces exhibit hand‑woven gilt copper filigree, vivid enamel infill, and the desirable mechanical features of rotating heads and spinning balls beneath the male lion’s paw.

The filigree is tight and uniform, characteristic of Beijing/Tianjin workshop production during the export boom of the early 20th century. Enamel colors include turquoise, cobalt, emerald, and plum, fired with the slight glass pooling typical of pre‑WWII cloisonné.

Measurements: 2" × 1" × 1¾" (each)

Condition: Very good antique condition. Enamel surfaces are stable and bright; gilt filigree retains attractive patina. Both mechanical elements operate smoothly. A rare and charming miniature pair suitable for collectors of Asian antiques and decorative arts.
