Art Nouveau Majolica Jardiniere Belgian/French c. 1890-1905

Presented is a fine Art Nouveau majolica jardinière dating to the late 19th century, likely produced in Belgium or northern France. The piece exhibits the defining characteristics of continental majolica from the period: deeply modeled foliate relief, high‑gloss cobalt and chartreuse glazes, and a substantial earthenware body.

The relief rises prominently from the surface in rounded, organic contours. Glaze pooling within the recesses creates dramatic tonal variation. The underside retains a raised diamond mold mark and a small unglazed kiln‑pad stilt point, consistent with European majolica firing practices of the era.
